We suddenly realized that it was early in the afternoon and that we had been so entranced by the glacier, we had forgotten to eat anything all morning. I include these pictures just so you can see the looks on our faces. I smiled like this on my wedding day. |

-Glacier Bay, Alaska: Day Four
Part II-
"The Awesome power of Nature" |
|
|
A group shot with the glacier and the ships wake behind us. The looks on our faces are as priceless as the day itself. We had finally eaten something at this point and had some time to think about what we'd seen. You can also see one of the reasons we like Jim and Gladys. They're just like us only a little older. |

Even though we were booking out of the bay, you can still catch the reflection of the mountains in the water behind us. On this day we saw more of the things we like for vacation than on any other. "The office" never crossed my mind. |

Back out to see and away from the views and vistas, we were headed for Ketchikan, Alaska. There was some unfinished scenery to tell you about. Mt. Juneau and one other peak were waiting in the wings for us to float by. Mt. Juneau is an 18,000 ft summit, and you can see all of it from the sea. Our weather was so beautiful that the captain made sure we all knew that he had only seen the actual peak three times in his eighty Alaskan cruises. I have pictures I believe I'll never have the chance to capture again. |

Bye,
Bye, Hubbard Glacier!
|
|

A
great idea of the view from our balcony. What you see there is the Glacier
to the right (where white meets the sea) and Mt Juneau and Mt Whatever
on the left side where all the clouds are.

Here, again is an awesome picture of Mt. Juneau's 18,000 ft peak screaming skyward from the clouds. This is probably as good a place as any to let you know that I do not fancy myself the photobug I make myself sound like. I am just excited about how beautiful the items within the pictures are. With these as subjects, how could your picture not be beautiful? |

Here's the one thing that doesn't really work to the cruise's advantage. They make you stop after you've been to Mecca. I mean, don't get me wrong, Ketchikan is nice and all- actually, it's pretty much a dump. I'll explain why in Day Five. |
